Game Bar A-Button
A moment to unwind in the city.
At Game Bar A-Button in Akihabara, vintage handheld consoles and cartridges accompany craft beers and cocktails. Here is a look at spending an evening immersed in gaming nostalgia alongside satisfying bar fare.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Settle into your seat with a drink in hand, and you may find yourself handed a classic Game Boy or another vintage handheld console alongside game cartridges to play right at your spot—an experience central to Game Bar A-Button. Filled with retro gaming memorabilia and classic background music, the intimate venue offers an easygoing atmosphere to indulge in nostalgia, whether dropping in solo or with a small group.
The bar counter is backed by an extensive drinks lineup, ranging from domestic and imported craft beers to refreshing yuzu beer, sake, and mixed cocktails. Craft beers are available in half-pint or pint pours, allowing guests to sample different brews while focusing on the screen in their hands.
To accompany the drinks, the reasonably priced food menu spans light bar snacks like beef jerky and mixed nuts as well as heartier options such as karaage fried chicken, duck pastrami, and curry. Located a short walk from Akihabara Station in Taito 1-chome, the bar operates from late afternoon into the night, making it a comfortable stop after work or at the end of an Akihabara outing to unwind over a good drink and a classic game.
